ATT EVAPORATION SYSTEM "ECHIDNA"
Why the name ECHIDNA? It has 144 Needles - 144 Evaporation Outlets (Ports).
Temperature controlled up to 200° Celsius. The systems is for Gas Chromatography.
Through the hollow needles - which can be easily exchanged - during the testing process Nitrogen or air is blown onto the surface of solvents containing also the test material.
The test medium is filled in small glass bottles - either 15 mm or 28 mm in diameter - or a selection of both. The test cycle, which might take some hours will end when the solvents have been totally evaporated.
The developing fumes will be safely exhausted to atmosphere by the fume cupboard exhaust system.
Features:
- constant temperature control
- uniform dry heat
- no sample contamination as it is with water baths
Applications:
- Sample evaporation and incubation
- Vacuum hydrolysis for amino acid analysis and protein hydrolysis
- Small scale reactions and derivatization reactions for HPLC and GC
Background of the Development:
One of our happy clients installed in their laboratories:
- 16 new LABTEC fume cupboards and
- a special designed drying exhaust system for around 60,000 test
samples in one testing cycle (shown under Special Fume Cupboards on our webpage)
- and upgraded 6 fume cupboards of other make with our ATT - Bypass damper system - it was not that easy - but now it is very well working.
At one day the managing director showed us their evaporation units - the largest had 27 outlets and said:
"I believe you are able to design and make a unit larger than these ones, say with around 100 outlets, aren't you?"
There was the challenge and here is the product - 144 outlets.
The pictures show this new product installed at the client's laboratory - in one of our fume cupboards.
All the laboratory technician are very pleased with the performance - all work is done quicker and less space is required.
ATT EVAPORATION SYSTEM "ECHIDNA" (A-kid-na)
(An Original Echidna is an Australian ant-eater. It is an egg laying marsupial called a monotreme. An echidna is about 50 cm long and it is dome-shaped. It has countless short sharp needles covering its body (like a porcupine). It has a short pointy snout and a sticky tongue with which it catches ants and termites. It has no teeth. It has very sharp claws too and can burrow underground very quickly. The echidna has short stubby feet and waddles when it walks.)
An ATT ECHIDNA has 144 long blunt hollow needles, which can be easily exchanged. During the testing process Nitrogen or air are blown through these needles onto the surface of solvents containing also the test material.
