LABTEC Floor Stand Fume Scrubber System, with Tellerettes for Fume Cupboard Use.
View Scrubber Images
Fume cupboard scrubbers are designed to filter out chemical vapours being produced in a fume cupboard and sucked through the connected extraction duct work forward to the outside environment by a fan unit, operating under negative pressure. Depending on its substances and concentration level this mixture of air and chemical vapours can be of very harmful nature to the adjoining environment if not captured, neutralised and harmless discharged.
The LABTEC Floor Stand Fume Scrubber System is of compact design and stands out by its high performance rating for its physical size comprised in one single unit and containing:
- The Fume Scrubber Section
- The Spray Section
- The Mist Elimination Section
- The Water Supply Section
- Neutralisation and Recirculation Tank Section
LABTEC Fume Scrubber System Working Technique
The fumes from the fume cupboard pass through a number of stages within the fume scrubbing system before being discharged to atmosphere.
The inlet section is designed so that entering air is distributed across the base of the scrubbing media Hydrapak 80 which is always misted by water from the above located spray section. This air -fume mixture enriched with water contacts and amalgamates with the scrubbing liquid on the surface of the Hydrapak 80. The specific surface area of Hydrapac 80 is 93 m² per m² and a free volume of 94 % and therefore guaranties high scrubbing performance.
The spray section houses
- Polypropylene full cone 180° spray angle, non-clogging spiral nozzles. Following this washing stage, the moisture laden air is drawn through the mist eliminator media TELLERATE No. 1. This demising procedure has a high separation efficiency, the air being scrubbed finding an path through the labyrinth of TELLERETTES while the liquid particles are captured and re-entered in the scrubbing cycle.
The LABTEC Floor Stand Fume Scrubber System is self contained and all components are visible. Inspection and maintenance become a very simple operation. The single unit is fabricated from light rigid PVC being heat formed and hot air welded. Within the body of the unit are the two scrubbing media which can be viewed and serviced through the removable clear PVC panels and are 100 % reusable.
LABTEC Water Supply, Neutralisation and Recirculation Tank Sections
These sections of the system are located at the bottom area of the LABTEC Floor Stand Scrubber Unit and provides easy access to its components
- Recirculating Liquid Storage Tank manufactured from chemical resistant PVC, covered with a lid.
- Town Water Supply Inlet Solenoid.
- Make Up Water Ball Control Float Valve.
- Line strainer.
- Magnetically Driven Recirculating Liquid Pump is Polypropylene bodied, and wound for a single phase electric supply.
- Additive chute to increase the concentration of neutralisation agent.
- Sample tap to check neutralisation of effluent.
- Clear UPVC Inspection window.
- Overflow Pipe for connection to waste line.
- Valve Drain Outlet.
- Low Water Level Switch:
- Spillage Tray to contain any accidental spillage.
- All interconnecting pipe work and drain lines are from PVC.
NOTE: The fume scrubbing system is fully controlled by the ATT SAF(V)ER /1 System.
TESTING PROCEDURES AND EFFICIENCY RATING
LABTEC received test results from manufacturer or our fume scrubbing media. These results are shown on a separate page and show efficiencies of eliminating up to 99.9 % of chemical contaminants entering the scrubbing systems.
The concentration level of chemicals used during operation of the fume cupboard shall not be in excess of levels specified by the appropriate regulatory authority. (AS/NZS2243.8:2001)
We are convinced that out modern LABTEC FUME SCRUBBER SYSTEMS FOR FUME CUPBOARD USE take care of the environment with the most efficient technology available on the world markets. Our fume scrubber systems comply with the AS/NZS2243.8:2001.
***
It is our considered opinion that a fume scrubber system as described before and located remotely from the fume cupboard is the much preferred option to a unit mounted on top of a fume cupboard.
If located away from the fume cupboard the scrubber is readily accessible for maintenance but more importantly the fume cupboard operator is not constantly bombarded by the sound of running water which cascades down the back wall of the fume cupboard.
